Very Special Sweet Plant
 
Sugar cane and sugar beets have competition from a
sweet South American plant: the sweet herb Stevia
rebaudiana. Extracted from this natural source, the
sweetener steviol glyco e is known f01 1ts
intensive, delicious pure eetness. Nearly free of
calmies, bene?cial for the teeth and suitable for
diabetics s’tevia i. an effective sweetener in
beverages and desserts as well as in yoghurt and
muesli. As it is 200 to 300 times sweeter than
conventional sugar, sievia needs only be used in
small amounts.
